Alcudia is one of the most important towns of Mallorca. Its streets are a mosaic of the different cultures which, during past centuries, occupied this strategic enclave situated between two bays and protected by the nearby mountains. Here, the Romans founded Pollentia, the most important city in the Balearic Islands. It is also possible to see historical and artistic remains of the conquests of the moors, the reconquest of the Christians and the Italian Renaissance.

Alcudia is a pioneer in the practice of Ecological tourism. The natural park of S'Albufera is one more ingredient of this area graced by nature: kilometres of fine sand beaches, wild, solitary coves, mountains….

CAN TEM is a former labourers house, dating back to the 17 th Century which has been restored with care, maintaining the important elements of the traditional architecture but at the same time equipping it with all the modern conveniences.

SANT JAUME, THE HOTEL
The small HOTEL SANT JAUME is located in the heart of the old town of Alcúdia. This house full of character - a typical "Casa Señorial" of the 19th century - has been carefully renovated, without losing its original grace. As soon as you enter the traditional Mallorcan entrance hall, you will be captured by the atmosphere of Mallorca as it used to be.
During summer our guests enjoy romantic evenings in the lovely patio, where a fountain adds to its charm, whilst a cosy lounge with an open fireplace is very popular with our clients during the winter season.

SANT JAUME, THE ROOMS
You will feel at home in our six double rooms, which have all been decorated differently. The interior design combines character and charm, creating a relaxed atmosphere with most modern comforts: fully fitted bathrooms/WC, airconditiong/heating, direct dial telephone, Sat-TV and minibar. Obviously you will find bathrobes and hairdryer in the bathroom.

Alcudia counts on a wide infrastructure for sports in natural surroundings along with a privileged climate which makes it the perfect location to practice outdoor sports such as cycling (there are touristic cycling routes) or trekking (there are many recommended excursions). There are all types of activities, adventure, team, water, air, underwater….

In the area there is also a recently created golf course, two harbours, swimming pool, sports pavilion, professional football pitch, and many different companies which offer a wide range of possibilities for enjoyment.

The traditional cuisine of the Balearic Islands is a synthesis of the busy fishing and farm industries joined with the gastronomic wealth of the different cultures which have passed through the island, each leaving their mark. If anything characterises it, it is the variety and the wide range of tastes and smells; sweet, savoury, and the combination of both.

While the “ensaimada” is the standard sweet pastry of the balearic kitchen, we can also appreciate the wide variety of “embutidos” (types of Mallorcan sausage), roasts, desserts, fish and shellfish, as well as a very interesting wine production well worth tasting.

In Alcudia you will find a wide variety of leisure and cultural activities. From music concerts throughout the year, to theatre productions and films shown in the new Audtiorium of Alcudia without forgetting the local art galleries such as the Fundacion Jakober.

The centre of Alcudia counts on boutiques and shops of all types (clothes, shoes, sports, gifts…) as well as bars and restaurants which offer the best balearic produce. An even wider range is available just 2 kilometres away in the in the Port of Alcudia where you can enjoy watching the world go by on the many terraces by the sea where the nightlife starts and moves on to the bars, pubs and discotheques. The night fills with music, colour, beautiful people and diversion. Enjoy it!

To get to Alcudia from the Airport Son Sant Juan, you have to follow the directions for Palma and turn off on two occasions following the signs “Inca/Pto Alcudia”. We then follow the motorway PM27 for 25 kms until arriving at Inca where we cross three roundabouts and join the main road C-713 for 26 kms which will take us to Alcudia.

This journey from the airport to Alcudia takes about 50 minutes.
